Privacy Policy

WadeScribe (“we”, “us”) runs wadescribe.com, an AI study suite for university students in Nigeria and across Africa. We decide how your personal data is used, and we handle it in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. You can reach us at support@wadescribe.com.

• Account details: your name and email address. If you sign up with a password, we store only a secure hash of it, never the password itself. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google.
• What you give us to work with: assignment topics and drafts, documents you upload, audio you record or upload, study material, quiz answers and messages to Study Padi.
• Payments: the pack you bought, the amount, the date and the payment reference. Card and bank details go straight to our payment processor. We never see or store them.
• Usage: which tools you use, credits earned and spent, streaks and XP.
• Technical data: sign-in cookies, and the IP address and device details our hosting provider logs to keep the service secure.

• To run the tools you ask for and save your work to your account.
• To manage your credits and payments.
• To keep your account secure and prevent abuse.
• To answer you when you contact us.
• To understand, in aggregate, which features help students, so we can improve them.

We use your data because we need it to provide the service you signed up for, because you consented, or because the law requires it. We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't use your work to train AI models.

To produce a result, we send the content you give a tool to an AI provider: Anthropic for writing and analysis, and OpenAI for transcription, audio and images. They process it to return the result to us. We use them under business API terms that limit what they can do with your content.

We share data only with the service providers that run WadeScribe for us:

• Supabase: database, sign-in and file storage
• Vercel: website hosting
• Anthropic and OpenAI: AI processing (see above)
• Pexels: receives only the search terms used to find slide images
• Flutterwave: payment processing
• Google: only if you choose to sign in with Google

We may also disclose data if the law requires it, or to protect our users and the service from fraud or harm.

Some of these providers store or process data outside Nigeria, including in the United States. When data leaves Nigeria, we rely on the safeguards the Nigeria Data Protection Act allows, including the providers' contractual data-protection commitments.

We keep your account and your work for as long as your account is open. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete it and your content. The exception is payment records, which we keep for as long as the law requires.

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act you can ask to see, correct, export or delete your personal data, object to how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time. Email support@wadescribe.com and we'll respond within 30 days.

If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

Data is encrypted in transit. Access to it is restricted, including by database rules that stop one account from reading another's work. No system is perfectly secure, so if we learn of a breach that affects you, we'll tell you and the regulator as the law requires.

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

WadeScribe is built for university students. If you're under 18, you need the permission of a parent or guardian to use it.
